Privacy Policy
Effective 13 October 2026
This policy covers the PulseIndexer website and its public search API (together, "PulseIndexer"), operated by BJP Studio ("we", "us"). It doesn't cover the PulseReader mobile app, which has its own privacy policy.
You don't need an account to use PulseIndexer. We don't sell your personal information. The website shows ads from Google AdSense, which uses cookies. The sections below explain what that means and how to opt out.
Information we collect
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website or call the API, our servers receive standard technical information, including:
- Your IP address
- Your browser type and operating system
- The pages you view, the searches you run, and when you visit
We use your IP address briefly, in memory, to limit request rates and protect against abuse, such as automated scraping or repeated failed sign-in attempts. Our server logs may record search terms when a request fails, so we can fix problems. We don't use this information to identify you.
Information you give us
If you contact us through the contact page or by email, we receive the details you choose to send, such as your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply to you.
Advertising
The website shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners act as third-party vendors and use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads. These cookies let Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this website and other websites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- For details, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy settings link on the website. If you don't consent, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use cookies only for things like frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting.
Cookies
We set the following cookies:
- Essential cookies. These protect forms from forgery, and keep administrators signed in to the admin area. Regular visitors don't receive a sign-in cookie.
- Advertising cookies. Google and its partners set these, as described above.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, some features, such as the contact form, may not work.
Third-party services
We use the following third parties, each with its own privacy policy:
- Google AdSense, for advertising on the website
- Google Fonts, which serves the website's fonts. Your browser connects to Google to download them.
Search results link to RSS feeds, podcasts and websites that we don't operate. Their own privacy practices apply when you visit them.
How we share information
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:
- with the service providers listed above, so they can provide their services
- when required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process
- when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect our rights or your safety or the safety of others, to investigate fraud, or to respond to a government request
Data retention
- IP addresses used for rate limiting are held in memory for a few minutes and aren't stored.
- Server logs are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted.
- Messages you send us are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request, and then for up to 12 months.
- Aggregated, anonymised data that no longer identifies you may be kept indefinitely.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we process it, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We don't sell personal information. Advertising cookies may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising, and you can opt out of that using the advertising controls above or by contacting us.
International data transfers
We and our service providers may process personal data in countries outside your own, including outside the European Economic Area. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
Children
PulseIndexer isn't intended for children under 16, or a higher age where the law requires it. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a data breach affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the effective date. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent to material changes. Previous versions are available on request.
